The Challenge

Distance: 49.7 miles (80 km) in 3 days
Elevation Gain: 8,956 ft / 2,730 meters
Set out to complete the infamous W-Trek, weaving through the most stunning landscapes within the Crown Jewel of Chilean Patagonia. The “W” shaped trail navigates up to Mirador Base Las Torres, through the French Valley, and over Grey Glacier suspension bridges. An adventure packed with breathtaking landscapes that will take you through Lenga forest to granite spires, past glacier lakes and pebble beaches, with expansive views of the ice-capped mountains. This is truly a trekking paradise.
If the distance and elevation intimidates you, alternative itineraries exist for every fitness level. Meet with expert guides to plan your unique itinerary. From horseback riding through an Estancia, to wildlife observation excursions, we are here to ensure your experience is truly memorable. You can opt for a day hiking on the W-Trek, followed by a reflective spa immersion, overlooking the Torres del Paine Massif, with a chance to spot puma, guanaco, ñandú, or wild horses right, as you rest in the open-air whirlpool tub. If you and your travel partner have different interests, this adventure is perfect for you! Each of you can take on your own daytime excursion, then meet back for an evening by the fire, an exquisite dinner, and a perfect glass of Chile’s Carménère wine, while you share your stories from the day’s activities.
The Epitome of Secluded Luxury
For most hikers, the W-Trek consists of tent camping along the route but we have partnered with Tierra Patagonia to offer you the untamed wilderness of Patagonia with 5-star exclusivity. It’s the perfect balance for those that want adventure and rejuvenation within the same vacation. You’ll spend 4 nights with Tierra Patagonia as your home base and be transported to/from your daily excursion. You’ll be supported by expert guides. Dine surrounded by nature, with panoramic windows to showcase the dramatic Patagonian landscape. All meals are included. Enjoy an exquisite buffet breakfast to gear up for the day. The Tierra team will pack you a hearty lunch for your daily adventure and you’ll return to Tierra for a celebration of Chilean cuisine. We have to keep a few secret surprises but you can be sure that everything about Tierra exudes luxury. You just might find it hard to leave!
The Details
Our adventure beings in Santiago, Chile on Saturday. Day 1 is always a Saturday and you will be checking in to a 5-star luxury hotel. Meet your event director and fellow travelers over dinner and drinks. Our welcome will get you excited for the days ahead and make sure you have everything you’ll need based on the expected weather conditions. Book your 3-hour flight from Santiago (SCL) to Puerto Natales (PNT) on Sunday (day 2) and our Patagonia adventure begins! We return to Santiago on a Friday and you can choose to return home or extend your adventure. All meals and lodging are included in your price. Flights are not included. We can help you plan based on your ideal schedule but you should book your flights to/from Santiago and additional flights to/from Puerto Natales. Our full itinerary is available below.

Detailed Itinerary
Day 1:
Arrive in Santiago and explore the vibrance of Chile’s capital city. If you have more time and are interested in our trip extensions, please reach out to our team.

Check in to The Singular, Santiago for a luxury 5-Star welcome. Enjoy a traditional Chilean dinner and welcome drinks, while connecting with your fellow adventure travelers.

Flights to Santiago (SCL) are not included in the package price. Please book your inbound flight to arrive on or before Saturday (the first date of our adventure)
Day 2:
Today we fly south to Patagonia for our main adventure. The true highlight of this experience. After a ~3 hour flight, we will arrive in Puerto Natales, the gateway to Torres del Paine National Park. We will be picked up by Tierra staff for our 1.5 hour transfer to our home base for the next 4 nights.
Settle in and enjoy the award-winning architecture, embedded into the natural environment.

Day 3:
Today is all about adventure. Join us as we embark on a journey to Mirador Base Las Torres - the Eastern leg of the W Trek. This is a steep and difficult hike. Alternative excursions are available for those seeking a different adventure.
Everything is taken care of for you. No need to think about anything!
Day 4:
Can you make it to through the French Valley, up to Mirador Británico, and across to Paine Grande before our Catamaran departs? Day 4 is an exhilarating 23.5 mile marathon through a myriad of incredible vistas. It’s the central section of our W trek, with options to modify alternative itineraries customized to your interests.
Everything is taken care of for you. No need to think about anything!
Day 5:
Complete the W’s western arm with a hike from Paine Grande up to the bridges overlooking the surreal Grey Glacier. Our day will begin with a scenic drive to Hotel Lago Grey, where we will enjoy a coffee before boarding a Catamaran to Sector Grey.
While still a tough day on the trail, this is the most manageable of our 3-day W trek and you’ll be rewarded with more unique landscapes and an adventurous trail.

Day 6:
It’s always hard to leave Tierra Patagonia’s iconic environment but you’ll be leaving with incredible memories and new friends. We’ll make the transition easier with a stay at the extraordinary Singular Patagonia. You’ve earned a Spa Day, followed by another fabulous dinner!
